Celebrating 20 years of amazing Physical Therapy services!

PediaFlex was founded in November, 2004, by Matthew Luginbuhl, physical therapist.  His vision has been to provide awesome therapy that maintains a passion for top quality care.

 Our Mission and Guiding Principles

We are passionate about providing focused and intense therapy services for infants, young children, teens and adults.  Our first responsibility is to the patients, to mothers and fathers and all others who use our services.  In meeting their needs everything we do must be of high quality.  We must constantly strive to maintain fair and reasonable prices.

We are committed to kids with special needs, through care that is traditional, proven and professional.  We believe that outcomes are realized when concentrated attention is given to the dynamics of learning, growing, moving, sensing and interacting with a fun, motivating and friendly environment.  We believe that functional outcomes are the primary emphasis of services and by improving underlying movement processes such as flexibility, strength, and balance, development and independence can improve. We must experiment with new ideas and develop innovative programs.  New equipment must be purchased and new services launched.

We are responsible to the men and women who work with us. Everyone must be considered as an individual with respect, dignity and merit.  They must have a sense of security in their jobs.  Compensation must be fair and adequate, and working conditions clean, orderly and safe.  We must be mindful of ways to help our employees fulfill their family responsibilities.  Employees must feel free to make suggestions and complaints.  We must provide competent management, and their actions must be just and ethical.

We are responsible to the communities in which we live and work.  We must be good citizens, support good works and charities, and bear our fair share of taxes.  We must encourage civic improvements and better health and education.  We must maintain in good order the property we are privileged to use.

PediaFlex is passionate about providing focused and intense physical therapy services for infants, toddlers, children, teenagers, and adults, specializing in the care of neurological and developmental disabilities. We are committed to individuals with special needs, through care that is traditional, proven, and professional. We believe functional outcomes are the primary challenge kids and adults face with underlying neurological and developmental movement difficulties. We give special attention to the dynamics of learning, growing, moving, sensing, and interacting for these outcomes to be meaningful. We believe all people develop and grow across many continuums that are interrelated and influence each other greatly.

At PediaFlex, we provide physical therapy that maintains a passion and vision for top-quality care!

“We cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for our son and in turn, our family, the strides that he has made in his development are thanks to you and all of the hard work that you put into helping him achieve what he has up to this point! It means the world to us that you are so dedicated to our son and his development.”

- C. S. from Granby, CT

“Just a quick update…I took our son to the neurologist last week. He had a great exam and bottom line was the doctor felt he was developmentally delayed, but because of the good progress, there would be no reason to be concerned about an underlying problem. The doctor ended the exam with something to the effect that he is doing well. As I told you, I am delighted that he is doing so well right now! He is going to be seen for follow-up in 6 months, but if he keeps going in the direction he is right now, I think that everything will be just fine. Thank you again so much for your kind support and willingness to squeeze our son into your already full schedule! We appreciate all you did. I want to tell you that twice now in the morning on our way to day-care, (the latest being this morning), he said “Mamma go see Matt”. You are the only “Matt” we know, so I am sure he is asking to see you! That is quite a testimony of your connection with kids. Enjoy the Beautiful day!”

- C. P. from South Glastonbury, CT

“We are so happy that we found you. You are knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate at what you do. Having you as an advocate for our son, lets us rest assured that he has the best help available. “We are happy to give this award to Matt Luginbuhl to recognize his excellence in clinical teaching... Matt has been extremely generous in opening his doors to our students, but we would really like to acknowledge his skills as a clinical educator. Optimal characteristics of clinical educators have been identified in the literature. Some of these characteristics are that the instructor is approachable, stimulates student interest, is able to demonstrate clinical skills and judgement, is dynamic and energetic, and is able to provide constructive feedback to students.  Matt epitomizes all of these qualities.  He is confident in his knowledge, yet supportive of student’s efforts, making him very approachable.  He has boundless professional enthusiasm, which is infectious to those around him.  His feedback regarding student performance is detailed and informative. Matt has truly enhanced the pediatric component of our PT program.  We thank you, Matt, for the support that you have wholeheartedly given to our students."

- L.H. from Avon, CT

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have this amazing experience as your intern this summer. You have been educational and given me the hands-on experience I was hoping for. Over the last 10 weeks I have learned more about the PT field, but I also learned more about myself. I allowed myself to be confident when you gave me hands-on opportunities. I learned how important pediatric PT is, especially for these children with special needs. During my parent interviews, mom’s were so appreciative that this type of PT is available for their children. I can’t thank you enough for everything. You are an amazing teacher and I am so glad we had this opportunity to work side-by-side this summer.”

- O. N. From University of Rhode Island/Glastonbury, CT

“PediaFlex has been so valuable to our son's development. Mr. Matt listens to his needs, gives us advice and homework.  He works so well with Mr. Matt, even when he's tired and frustrated. Mr. Matt's patience and knowledge are invaluable. PediaFlex has definitely been a blessing to our family."

- F.C. from Portland, CT

“Thank you so much for allowing me to shadow you. Although I am planning on studying Occupational Therapy in college, I’m glad I got the opportunity to see how much OT’s and PT’s have to interact and have good communication. I deeply appreciate it. You are an amazing PT.”

- L. H. from Glastonbury, CT

“We are sorry to be leaving the CT area and your practice. We feel so very blessed by the time our son spent at your clinic. You are very gifted in the career you’ve chosen. Our son has had three different therapy experiences and by far you have been “THE BEST”. Your demeanor, patience, personalities and professionalism I rate among the very best. We are leaving wiser, challenged and with much progression and improvement in our son. Thank you! You’ve been a huge part of his success and your always welcome to visit us in Michigan.”

- T. J. from Michigan

“Mr. Matt is a highly skilled physical therapist who is truly committed to his patients.  He approaches the kids in a kind, compassionate way, and challenges them to do all that they are capable of."

“You have been a rock for us with our son, for the last nine years and we could never thank you enough for your endless devotion and care for our precious boy!!! You’re one of a kind Matt!”

- L. M. from West Hartford, CT

“Thank you for coming to our school and showing us what being a PT is all about. I enjoyed seeing the electric therapy buzzy thing. I think that it’s great that you help children through physical therapy. It was really funny when you put different classmates in the leg brace and made them try to walk in a straight line but whoever was in the leg brace had a really hard time. It’s nice that you took time out of your day and your job to come to our school and show us how your job works. Thanks again.”

- T. B. from South Windsor, CT

“Thanks for helping to bring back so much joy and happiness to our lives. You are truly one of the very many blessings in my life."

- L.M. from West Hartford, CT

“Thanks for the opportunity to spend the day observing with you last week. It was a great experience. I enjoyed interacting with the kids. I look forward to the possibility of setting up a rotation at PediaFlex!!”
